Restoration of Mecca Masjid, Hyderabad
Mecca Masjid, located in old city of Hyderabad is a great monument of archaeological significance with typical representation of florid Qutb Shahi architecture. The mosque features impressive domes, medieval architecture and other remarkable features. It is believed that bricks sourced from Mecca in Arabia were used for building some portions of this historic Islamic Shrine. Telangana Archeology is committed to preservation and conservation of this one-of-its-kind mosque in the country. Restoration activities involving Lime Chakki are being carried out currently to restore the roof surface and other important portions of the grand mosque.
