This book authored by Muhammad Abdul Wali Khan, former keeper of coins in the AP State Museum describes the gold and silver coins issued by Sultans of Delhi in the Deccan from 3rd Century B.C to 20th Century A.D. like Ghiyasuddin Balban, Jalaluddin and Alauddin Khilji, Ghiyasuddin and Mohd. bin Tughlaq. A hoard of such 84 gold coins was excavated in a village of Narsapur Taluk, Medak District by the Collector of Medak District. The coins of Delhi Sultanate known as Dinars were often made of precious metals like gold, silver and are noteworthy for their artistic ornamentation like Koranic ayats, names and portraits of rulers.
