Preventive Conservation Training at State Museum

Information of closure of workshop

The workshop on preventive conservation with reference to the Egyptian Mummy in the State Museum, was held from March 29, 2016. The fragmented and loose wrappings of the Mummy were carefully placed back in position and the Mummy wrapped again. Six staff and four conservators were involved in the exercise. Preventive conservation was also implemented for the cartonnage that was in fragments and covered with grime. A non invasive analysis was also conducted to understand the inner structure of the wrapped Mummy. A detailed report follows after the analysis results are collated on April 2, 2016
