Research Activities in the State
The Department of Heritage Telangana, collaborates with other institutions, and universities in India and abroad for future activities and other projects. This creates scope for more knowledge as well as collaborations which further more publicizes the heritage value of Archaeological sites in the state.
The experts and research professionals of the museum support intensive exploration and creation of new academic partnerships with various institutes of excellence. Telangana, with its rich past offers a lot for exhaustive research. Our explorers and talented researchers contribute a lot by profiling the sites, exploration of new sites, and announcing new discoveries, as well tracing the history related to various sites of the state.
The Department of Heritage Telangana has so far categorized 2,795 stampages from the districts of Telangana State, for the purpose of reconstructing the history of Telangana. The Department has published inscriptions collected from Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Warangal, Mahabubnagar and Medak while Epigraphical survey in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Nizamabad has been completed and the volumes would be published. Village wise survey is being taken up soon in Khammam and Adilabad.
About 47 books and monographs were published under Epigraphical Series which involves individual inscriptions, Corpus of inscriptions, Annual reports, Epigraphia Andhrica Volumes and District wise volumes.
